Meet Julia Gartner, Owner and Founder of Sun & Soul Doulas

- MA Degree in Deaf Education (Birth-21 years old)
- BA Degree in Special Education (Birth-21 years old), with a minor in Human Relations
- Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing *Certified (New York, South Carolina and Maryland)

Julia’s maternal instinct and supportive nature have been alive and constant from a very young age. When her sister was born, she stepped right into her “big sister role” and took charge of her care; diapering, feeding, and soothing her newborn sister provided the support her mother deeply needed and Julia loved every minute of it! These early life experiences fueled her passion to seek out education and become a professional birth and baby expert which has led her to a flourishing career as a certified doula, and doula agency owner.
Julia is also an educator and successful entrepreneur who is fluent in ASL, and has built several thriving companies dedicated to supporting families. Julia established her first business at 27 years old teaching ASL. This dedication to bridging the communication gap between the deaf and hearing abled, also launched an ASL education service where she collaborated with corporate giants such as; Amazon and Verizon Media. Her foundation in ASL, coupled with her creativity, musical skills, and love for teaching inspired ASL Discoveries, where you will find original educational music to sing and sign to, for children ages 0-5.

Julia has had the honor of providing compassionate support and nurturance to families all along the Eastern Seaboard beginning with her first doula agency in New York, Hudson Valley Family Doulas, and now with Sun & Soul Doulas here in Florida.
Sun & Soul Doulas is proud of its diverse collective of dedicated professional birth and postpartum doulas who are empowering the birth and postpartum experiences of the growing families of the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach County, and Broward County.
When not busy supporting her clients and her team, Julia is nurturing her own family, as a devoted wife, mother, and as a trusted friend. Her self-care often brings her to being energized by the sun at one of the many Florida beaches, however, on rainy days you will find her tapped into her creativity writing poetry, singing, crocheting, drawing, and painting. Staying true to her purpose of empowering the lives of others, Julia is actively pursuing training in Homeopathy, and looks forward to providing holistic health support through natural modalities.
